Pay Range: Asst $100,700-$105,000 / Assoc $105,000-$111,000
Salary offers at Syracuse University will be based on education, experience, and relevant skills, as well as the academic or professional discipline of the position in the context of the home department, school, or college. Salary offers may also be influenced by prior relevant work or industry experience, where applicable. Faculty pay ranges are for 8.5 months’ salary unless otherwise specified.

Job Description: Syracuse University’s Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (http://eecs.syr.edu) invites applications primarily for Assistant Teaching Professor. Candidates with significant relevant experience may be considered at the level of Associate Teaching Professor. Candidates with a demonstrable commitment toward building a diverse and equitable scholarly community are particularly encouraged to apply.
Expertise areas generally include all areas of electrical engineering, computer engineering, and computer science. Areas of particular interest include, but are not limited to, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Semiconductors and Devices, Communications, Embedded Systems, Security, and Computing Systems.
To support the once-in-a-generation Federal Government investment in Chips and Science and the announced Micron Technologies plan to build the western-hemisphere’s largest memory manufacturing plant within 15 miles of our campus, Syracuse University is currently underway in a five-year plan to transform our STEM education and research activities. This work includes a significant investment into the EECS Department in areas including chips and semiconductor manufacturing, quantum information science and engineering, and artificial intelligence.
Qualifications: Candidates should have an earned Ph.D. in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or relevant fields, and outstanding academic credentials.
Job Specific Qualifications: Candidates should have a strong interest in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and be effective at collaborating with other faculty.
Candidates who have a demonstrated track record in mentoring women and underrepresented groups in EECS are strongly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities: Teaching responsibilities will include a range of undergraduate and graduate courses in the areas of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Semiconductors and Devices, Communications, Embedded Systems, Security, and Computing Systems.
