Position overview

The salary range for this position is $250,600-$283,200 at the Assistant rank and $283,300-$312,700 at the Associate rank. This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

Position description

The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at UC Davis School of Medicine is recruiting for a full-time (100% time) sports medicine physician. The position will serve as a faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor track.

The UC Davis PM&R Sports Medicine program is one of the West Coast's leading academic non-operative sports medicine practices. Working alongside nationally recognized colleagues across UC Davis Health, the successful candidate will help advance innovative clinical programs, educate trainees at all levels, and provide comprehensive non-operative musculoskeletal care for active adults-from recreational and competitive athletes to older adults seeking to maintain lifelong mobility and function.

This position is ideally suited for someone excited to shape the future of Sports Medicine at UC Davis Health by expanding one of the nation's premier integrated academic sports medicine programs within one of the nation's leading PM&R departments.

EXPECTATIONS

This position will provide clinical care at least four days per week. This position will also include the teaching and supervision of fellows, residents, and medical students, as well as participating in departmental meetings, conferences, hospital and departmental committees.

This recruitment is conducted at the Assistant to Associate Professor ranks, with the resulting appointment commensurate with relevant experience.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
  • The candidate must possess an M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in one of the following: Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine

  • Fellowship training in Primary Care Sports Medicine (or equivalent ACGME Sports Medicine fellowships)
  • Board certification or board eligibility in their primary specialty
  • The candidate must be eligible for licensure in the State of California and/or have an active California medical license prior to appointment start date.
