Job summary

Lincoln Memorial University is seeking an Assistant/Associate/Professor of Internal Medicine for the DCOM Knox campus. The incumbent will teach the LMU-DCOM approved curriculum, fulfill clinical duties, and engage in scholarly activity.

Responsibilities include contributing to the mission of the University, the School, and the Department while mentoring medical students and participating in curriculum development.

Qualifications

• D.O./M.D. degree and Board Certification in Internal Medicine.
• Able to be licensed in Tennessee within the first year of hire by the Tennessee Board of Osteopathic Examination/Tennessee Medical State Board; unrestricted Tennessee license and required medical professional liability insurance must be maintained.

Job Description

The Assistant/Associate/Professor of Internal Medicine will be directly responsible for teaching LMU - DCOM approved curriculum, clinical duties, and scholarly activity. They shall be held accountable for these obligations as they contribute to the attainment of the mission of the University, the School, and the Department.

Required Qualifications

• D.O./M.D. degree and Board Certification in Internal Medicine; and *able to be licensed in Tennessee within the first-year of hire date by the Tennessee Board of Osteopathic Examination/Tennessee Medical State Board; unrestricted Tennessee license and approved medical professional liability insurance must be maintained throughout employment

Preferred Qualifications

• D.O. degree and able to be licensed in Tennessee by the Tennessee Board of Osteopathic Examination; *minimum of 3 years experience in clinical/academic medicine teaching and leadership. Academic rank will be commensurate with training and experience

• complete required institutional, program accreditation, and other reports necessary for the operation and advancement of University programs
• provide clinical service/patient care and bedside teaching for students in the clinical setting
• serve as an example to learners and colleagues of appropriate professional behavior
• participate in clinic quality assurance and other service evaluation activities
• participate in scholarly activity
• serve as mentor to medical and other students
• demonstrate and supervise students during clinical educational activities utilizing standardized patients and/or volunteer patients
• supervise students during authorized and approved patient care events including health fairs, sports physicals, or community outreach programs
• perform other duties as assigned.
