Job summary

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in atmospheric science or closely related field by start date.
• Evidence of scholarly achievement in climate dynamics or AI applied to atmospheric science.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience publishing scientific results.
• Preferred: vision and plan for independent research; teaching experience and mentoring of graduate students; community engagement and professional service.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a strong, externally funded research program (50%).
• Teach graduate-level courses (40%), advise and mentor MS/Ph.D. students, and develop new courses.
• Engage in departmental, college, and professional service activities (10%).
