A leading university in Maryland seeks a full-time faculty member for the School of Pharmacy. The role involves providing education in pharmacy practice, participating in patient care, and engaging in scholarly activities. The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) seeks a full-time, twelve-month, non-tenure track faculty position. UMES is located in rural Maryland and is one of America’s most beautiful campuses. The School of Pharmacy is dedicated to developing exemplary pharmacy professionals and scholars who are committed to patient-centered care, lifelong learning, discovery, and service for diverse communities of the Delmarva Peninsula, the State of Maryland, and around the world. Faculty are dedicated and promote a positive work environment. The practice site is in Crisfield, Maryland.
Provide didactic and experiential education in pharmacy practice, specifically in ambulatory care and related subjects; participate in direct patient care; develop/maintain a practice which supports interactions with other health professionals; develop/revise course(s) to meet and exceed accreditation standards; cooperate and coordinate with others in team-taught courses; develop and commit to scholarly activity; serve on School and University committees; and participate in regional and/or national professional organizations along with peers and students. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.)
• Completion of a PGY1 residency program or at least 3 years of comparable clinical experience
• A team approach to patient care
Preferences:
• PGY2 residency in ambulatory care
• Board Certification in ambulatory care (BCACP)
• Didactic and experiential teaching experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence, student engagement, research collaboration, and service.
Licenses:
Current Maryland pharmacist license or eligibility for Maryland licensure.
Physical Demands:
May require extended periods of sitting at a desk. May require lifting up to 25 lbs. Requires communication with a variety of constituents externally and internally. Requires operation of a variety of office functions.
