Position Overview: The University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a faculty position in Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery. This full-time, annually renewable, contract (non-tenure track) faculty appointment is available immediately and represents an exciting opportunity to join a growing and collaborative specialty service within one of the nation's leading academic veterinary medical centers.
We are seeking a colleague who is passionate about clinical excellence, teaching, collaboration, and advancing the field of veterinary dentistry and oral surgery. This position is being recruited as part of a strategic investment in the continued growth of the Dentistry and Oral Surgery Service and the future development of advanced training opportunities within the program.

Location and Work Environment: Work will be completed on the St. Paul Campus at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. In‑person work is required for the clinical component of the position at the Veterinary Medical Center, largely during traditional Monday - Friday daytime hours. Didactic teaching is also done in person, though other aspects of the role may warrant flexibility for hybrid work.
Work Schedule: This position is full‑time, typically Monday - Friday daytime hours.

Required:
Candidates must possess a DVM/VMD or equivalent veterinary degree and have completed, or be completing, residency training in Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery. Applicants must be board certified or board eligible through the American Veterinary Dental College (AVDC) (or equivalent) and be eligible for veterinary licensure in the State of Minnesota.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in clinical practice, teaching, communication, and teamwork, and will be committed to fostering a positive and collaborative academic environment.
The Veterinary Clinical Sciences Department advances veterinary medicine through clinical education and mentoring, specialized care of companion animals, and generating new knowledge through clinical research.
Teaching
Veterinary Clinical Sciences faculty members are responsible for a significant portion of the clinical training program for third- and fourth-year veterinary students, as well as small animal internship and residency programs. Faculty members also participate in the veterinary medicine and comparative and molecular biosciences graduate programs.
Research
Faculty and staff are actively involved in clinical and basic research, as well as specialized programs such as the Animal Cancer Care and Research program, Minnesota Urolith Center, and Surgical Research Laboratory. Research efforts are supported by the Clinical Investigation Center, which coordinates clinical trials.
Service and Outreach
Veterinary Clinical Sciences faculty members provide collaborative clinical services in the Veterinary Medical Center using cutting‑edge equipment and offers consultations and continuing education programs for practicing veterinarians in the community.
Pay Range: Assist Prof - $115,000 - $180,000 annually depending on education/qualifications/experience; Assoc Prof - $135,000 - $195,000 annually depending on education/qualifications/experience; Full Prof - $150,000 - $220,000 annually depending on education/qualifications/experience
