Position overview
Position title: Infectious Diseases Physician-Scientist
Salary range: The posted UC Salary scales set the minimum pay at the appointment as determined by appointment type and if applicable, rank and/or step. The base pay range for this position is $118,000- $309,800. Salary is negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. Position description
The Department of Medicine (http://med.ucsd.edu) at the University of California, San Diego is committed to academic excellence within its faculty, staff, and student body, and is actively recruiting Infectious Disease physician-scientists.
The successful physician-scientist candidates will develop a strong individual research program and contribute to the research portfolio of the Division. The successful candidates will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate students, residents, trainees, and Infectious Disease fellows. In addition, the successful candidates will be an integral part of building the Infectious Diseases & Global Public Health Division at UCSD.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's background and experience.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
Candidates must have an MD or equivalent, MD/PhD, or PhD or doctoral degree in Infectious Diseases or a related field.
Candidates with an MD or equivalent must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
