JOB SUMMARY

The Department of Psychological Sciences at the University of Connecticut in Storrs invites applications for the position of Clinical Professor (open rank) / Director of the Psychological Services Clinic with an anticipated start date of January 1st, 2027. This appointment may be made at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Clinical Professor, commensurate with the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience. This is a ten-month, non-tenure track, renewable position. The Psychological Services Clinic (PSC) is a training clinic in the Clinical Psychology Program through which Ph.D. students provide assessment and treatment services to children and adults under the supervision of licensed psychologists who are members of the clinical faculty. This position includes teaching graduate courses covering APA-required content (e.g., History and Systems) or clinical (e.g., Didactics & Practicum in Supervision) skills. In addition, the successful candidate will provide supervision of psychological assessments completed by graduate students within the PSC, provide assessment services and consultation to schools and community groups alongside graduate student trainees, and contribute to the supervision of child and adult therapy services provided by graduate students in the PSC. In conjunction with the clinic administrator, the candidate will also oversee PSC operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversees all aspects of clinical services and clinical training provided by the Psychological Services Clinic, in collaboration with the Director of Clinical Training and Clinical Psychology Program Head.
• Oversees the functioning of the Clinic as a professional practice, including: developing, implementing, and updating policies and procedures for the Clinic; collaborating with the Assistant Director and the Clinic Administrator to monitor compliance with records and the electronic medical record system; supervising the Clinic Administrator and graduate student Clinic Assistant.
• Supervises the provision of therapy services by student clinicians.
• Teaches graduate student courses specific to APA competency requirements.
• Contributes to general graduate student education.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Doctoral degree from a program accredited by the American Psychological Association.
• Licensed or license eligible in the State of Connecticut.
• Ability to teach clinical psychology graduate courses, including a course on History and Systems.
• Expertise in cognitive and psychological assessment of children.
• Competence in evidence-based treatment and the ability to provide psychotherapy supervision to graduate students.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Expertise in the assessment of Autism Spectrum Disorders in children and adults and administration of the ADOS 2.
• Familiarity with a range of standardized test instruments used in the assessment of neurodevelopmental (e.g., ADHD) and learning disorders.
• Experience providing specific evidence-based treatments (e.g., CBT, ACT, PCIT, DBT, etc.).
• Experience providing supervision to students in evidence-based treatments.

APPOINTMENT TERMS

This is a ten-month, non-tenure track, annually renewable position with a comprehensive benefits package. In accordance with University of Connecticut policy, successful reappointments may be eligible for a two-year appointment after five years of service, and a multi-year contract beginning the seventh year. Salary and benefits are continued over 12 months. On occasion faculty members have the opportunity to earn additional compensation which may not exceed the equivalent of a twelve-month salary.
