The Department of Physiology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson invites applications for multiple tenure-eligible/tenured faculty positions. Particular interest is in applications for assistant professor positions, but we are open to applications for all ranks. We are interested in investigators conducting impactful research in any area relevant to physiology, including but not limited to brain-body connections, neurovascular disorders, hypertension, kidney disease, or cardiopulmonary function.
Our department has a broad research portfolio and is undergoing tremendous growth. Faculty members are principal investigators on NIH grants. The Department provides outstanding scientific platforms for research conducted in human subjects, non-human primates, rodent models, and human induced pluripotent stem cells. Department faculty possess leading expertise in cutting-edge approaches ranging from multi-omics and big data analysis to imaging, electrophysiology, and tissue and whole organism physiology.
The Department places a strong emphasis on peer mentoring to enhance the success of all faculty members, especially junior faculty members.
