About The Job

The University of Minnesota, Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition located in Minneapolis is seeking a Gastroenterologist/Hepatologist to become an integral team member within an academic division dedicated to cutting-edge and patient-centered care. The ideal candidate will have an interest in developing our hepatology and transplant hepatology programs further.

About The Division

The Gastroenterology Division’s general GI Section hosts expanding clinical and research programs in IBD, esophageal disorders, complex polypectomy, AI in endoscopy, and functional GI diseases. The transplant hepatology section manages one of the longest-standing liver transplant programs in the U.S. The Division also features a nationally recognized Advanced Endoscopy Section for ERCP, EUS, and complex pancreas/biliary disorders. The Division strives for excellence in patient services, teaching, and research.

Opportunity Highlights
  • Responsibilities include inpatient attending on the liver service at M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center.
  • Outpatient liver clinics at the state-of-the-art M Health Fairview Clinics and Surgery Center in Minneapolis.
  • Provide consultations and outreach activities.
  • Develop a clinical research program.
  • Participate actively in the academic missions of the Department of Medicine and the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition.

University of Minnesota Physicians practice at affiliated locations under the M Health shared care system, a collaboration between University of Minnesota Physicians, University of Minnesota Medical Center, and Fairview Health Services, providing top-tier clinical care, research, and education.

Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship.
  • Board certified in internal medicine and eligible/certified in Gastroenterology.
  • Advanced training and clinical experience in hepatology and transplant hepatology are highly desirable.
  • Excellence in patient care, enthusiasm for medical education, and strong teaching skills.
  • Licensed or eligible for medical license and DEA in Minnesota, with credentialing and privileges.
  • Ability to obtain U.S. work authorization and maintain legal status under VISA.
  • This role is dually employed by the University of Minnesota and University of Minnesota Physicians. Applicants should also complete an application with UMP.
Pay and Benefits

Salary begins at $55,000, dependent on academic effort, with clinical salary through UMP. Total compensation is competitive and aligned with AAMC benchmarks. Applicants should apply to both positions.
