Job Details

Reporting to the Director of Development, TJU, the Assistant/Associate Director of Development will solicit individual donors and prospective donors for major gifts to the University and its priorities. Fundraising activities include identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of Thomas Jefferson University alumni, prospects, and donors.

Level at hire is flexible with potential for either Assistant or Associate Director position depending on candidate experience. Candidates with 3-5 years of nonprofit fundraising experience are encouraged to apply; 5-7 years are preferred for the Associate Director level.

Responsibilities
  • Support TJU priorities and develop a major gifts plan.
  • Maintain a portfolio of major gift prospects, fostering relationships leading to philanthropic commitments.
  • Manage an individual prospect pool of 120+ individuals.
  • Conduct at least 125 meaningful donor encounters annually.
  • Generate a minimum of 24 proposals per year, each over $25K.
  • Collaborate with Jefferson’s events staff and development officers to maximize gift opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant fundraising experience, preferably in health or education sectors. 5-7 years of experience preferred for the Associate Director level.
