Assistant/Associate Attending Surgeon, Colorectal Service, Department of Surgery

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is one of the world’s premier cancer centers, committed to exceptional patient care, leading-edge research, and superb educational programs. The institution is a comprehensive cancer center whose purposes are the treatment and control of cancer, the advancement of biomedical knowledge through laboratory and clinical research, and the training of scientists, physicians, and other health care workers.

The Department of Surgery is seeking a highly motivated colorectal surgeon to join the Colorectal Service. This position is ideally suited for a board-certified or -eligible colorectal surgeon or surgical oncologist with an interest in the treatment of cancers of the lower gastrointestinal tract. The incumbent will join the Colorectal Service team of 9 surgeons and will receive academic appointment at Weill Cornell Medical College. As members of the multidisciplinary Colorectal Cancer Disease Management Team, Colorectal Service surgeons provide an integrated, highly specialized, and personalized treatment approach for patients with cancer of the colon, rectum or anus. Responsibilities include seeing patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings, performing anorectal and abdominal operations, educating residents and fellows, and conducting scientific research.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Training in an ACGME-accredited fellowship in colorectal surgery or surgical oncology
  • Experience in robot-assisted minimally invasive colorectal surgery
  • A defined clinical or translational research interest in colorectal malignancies
