Job summary

Willow Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Philadelphia is seeking a compassionate Assistant Activities Director to help plan and implement resident activity programs that promote socialization, engagement, and well-being.

You will support the Activities Director, coordinate recreational, social, and therapeutic activities, and collaborate with staff to tailor programs for residents, including those with dementia.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in healthcare or a related field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including residents with dementia and other cognitive impairments.
• Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Activities Director in planning, coordinating, and implementing resident activity programs, including recreational, social, and therapeutic activities.
• Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement interdisciplinary activities that promote resident engagement and satisfaction.
• Conduct activities sessions, including leading group activities, facilitating socialization, and providing individualized attention to residents.
• Develop and maintain relationships with residents, families, and staff to ensure a positive and engaging environment.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activity programs, making adjustments as needed to ensure resident satisfaction and engagement.
• Participate in resident assessments and care planning conferences to identify and meet the unique needs of each resident.
• Maintain accurate records and reports of activities and resident participation.
