Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) seeks an Eligibility Specialist to strengthen Michigan families by ensuring the correct type and level of public assistance is provided. The role involves assessing needs, giving information, and making referrals to assist clients in achieving self-sufficiency.

Position may be remote or hybrid; the first 6 months are in person, with potential for hybrid/remote options thereafter.

The role of the Eligibility Specialist is to strengthen Michigan families by:

• Ensuring that each person/family that applies for public assistancereceivesthe type and level of assistance that they are eligible for
• Assessing the needs of each person/family and giving them appropriate information and making any referrals and/or contacts to persons/agencies to help them meet their needs.
• Providing all families with information about the expectations and goals of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS).
• Encouraging and guiding families in their efforts to become self supporting.

This position may work remotely or work hybrid (remote/office). However, the first 6 months will be 100% in person. After 6 months, a hybrid or remote option may be available.
