OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY

Fox TV Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.

JOB DESCRIPTION

WNYW seeks a perdiem Assignment Editor.

Responsibilities:

1. Assign reporters and crews to cover stories.
2. Coordinate camera crew and live trucks.
3. Monitor police/fire/EMS radios for breaking news.
4. Responsible for monitoring news network and all news sources.
5. Develop and set up news stories.

Requirements:

1. Must have a minimum of 3 years experience working on an assignment desk in a local newsroom.
2. Must be able to prioritize and be aggressive in obtaining information and sources and able to work well under pressure.
3. New York City experience a plus.
4. Internet experience required.

Candidate will also be required to join the WGA East union. Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience and in accordance with the applicable union collective bargaining agreement is: $20.63-$48.81 per hour.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $20.63-48.81 per hour. We provide medical/dental/vision insurance and 401k after they meet eligibility criteria and any State required time-off, in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
