Job description

The pay range per hour is $24.00 - $40.80.

Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience, and certifications. All About Assets Protection

Assets Protection (AP) teams function to keep our guests, team, and brand secure and lead through crisis events. They protect profitable sales by mitigating shortage risks, preventing theft and fraud to ensure product is available for our guests. They also build relationships inside and outside of Target, including store leaders and public safety officials, including law enforcement.

As an Assets Protection Specialist, you will gain:

  • Skills using surveillance and intelligence-led tactics to keep team members and guests safe and secure while aiding in the reduction of shortage.
  • Ability to use Target's video surveillance system to monitor guests and identify potential theft risks.
  • Ability to implement Target's Assets Protection practices and routines to reduce and prevent shortage.
  • Ability to properly and effectively document cases.
  • Experience identifying strategic resolutions of external theft and fraud, and apprehension.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Supporting total store sales, guest service, and increasing profitability by ensuring product availability and preventing theft.
  • Resolving theft by using good judgment and conducting apprehensions in shortage focus areas while adhering to AP policies and procedures.
  • Identifying theft trends using technology, reporting, and surveillance tactics.
  • Preventing theft by gathering intelligence and communicating important issues.
  • Using video systems to monitor theft activity.
  • Responding to security incidents and documenting all incidents according to AP policies.
  • Promoting a physical security and safety culture for team members and guests.
  • Demonstrating inclusivity and creating equitable experiences.
  • Working safely and complying with all safety policies.
  • Maintaining positive relationships with public safety officials and law enforcement.
  • Participating in legal proceedings when necessary.
  • Performing other duties as needed.
