Job summary

Goldman Sachs is seeking engineers for full‑stack development in New York. You will drive feature design to execution, tackle a variety of problems across the stack, and collaborate with global teams to deliver customer‑centric financial technology solutions.

You will work on scalable infrastructure, contribute to architectural decisions, and mentor junior engineers while maintaining high standards for code quality and SDLC governance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Drive the design of critical components in the technology stack as well as oversee the implementation of new features, focusing on code quality, automation and testability.
• Collaborate with a global cross functional team in building customer‑centric products
• Contribute to the vision, understand our product roadmap and contribute to building an engineering culture within our global team.
• Design flows and systems using cloud and on‑prem technologies to ensure performance, longevity, and scalability of infrastructure.
• Contribute to SDLC documentation and guidance including templates, patterns, and controls.
• Perform code reviews and system design reviews and establish code quality standards and software best practices for a distributed systems architecture.
• Mentor and help develop more junior technical talents.
• Communicate with leadership, engineers, and business teams.

The Digital Client Experience teams in Asset Management provide clients with innovative and customer-centered financial products to drive transformative changes. Our Digital teams comprise of three main businesses, underpinned by engineering, product operations, security and risk management:

• Mosaic, an end-to-end open architecture technology platform and a digital product that provides trading, settlement, analytics, and reporting solutions to global liquidity clients.
• AM.gs.com: GSAM is the asset management arm of Goldman Sachs, which supervises more than $1.8 trillion in assets. Goldman Sachs Asset Management has been providing discretionary investment advisory services since 1988 and has investment professionals in all major financial centers around the world.
• Advisor Portal: An external Advisor Portal is a key component of SMA expansion program. The aim of this portal is to provide all-digital, best in class experience to Advisors such as advisor onboarding, application for new SMAs, track accounts status, access advisor tools etc.

We are looking for engineers who can drive a whole feature from design to execution, as well as engineers who can deep dive why an API is taking half a second longer than it should. Our team has a large variety of problems to tackle across the entire stack.

Day to Day Responsibilities

As a full stack developer, you will

Basic Qualifications

• Experience with Java, JavaScript, and Spring Boot
• Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience with design and implementation of low latency, high throughput, and fault‑tolerant distributed systems.
• Experience with microservices architecture and API development.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands on experience with Java and experience with any of the Rx* variants
• Experience with Kafka or similar messaging technologies
• Experience with microservice architecture
• Experience with the Spring framework family
• Strong proficiency in: Distributed systems, Low-latency services, NoSQL and relational databases
• Experience with AWS
• Hands on experience with React and/or Angular
• Experience with external facing websites is a plus
• Experience working with clients / users a plus
• Experience with Adobe Experience Manager is a plus
