Job description

Job Duties: Vice President, Investment & Portfolio Management with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, New York. Recommend investment decisions in a portfolio (or a sub-set of the portfolio) for clients or internally. Lead detailed financial analysis on individual and portfolios of assets to assess investment opportunities, including Future Value, P&L, investment level performance, and stress test scenarios. Build and analyze financial models to assess the attractiveness and financial risk and return of potential private equity, credit and other structured investment opportunities. Source investment opportunities through attendance at conferences, interactions with other internal and external advisors, and meetings with executives across various industries. Research and grow expertise around various trends, themes and business models across financial services. Present investment recommendation to internal investment committees or clients. On-going investment/portfolio management - may include quarterly valuations, assessing needs for future capital, helping with business development, participation on boards, and assessing exit opportunities. Provide training and guidance to junior team members.


Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Business Administration, Mathematics, Economics, Financial Engineering, or related quantitative field. Employer will accept single degree or any combination of degrees, certificates and/or professional work experience where determined to be equivalent to U.S. bachelor's degree by a qualified credential evaluation service. Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or a related investment management role. Must have five (5) years of experience with the following: developing detailed financial analysis using valuation techniques, leverage, and industry benchmarks; creating and presenting robust financial recommendations to investment committees and interacting with third parties; negotiating transaction documentation, such as term sheets, share purchase agreements, shareholder agreements, option plans and grants, and insurance documentation; using multi-asset capital market assumptions and tools to construct customized strategy modeling and bespoke structures for traditional and non-traditional strategies; portfolio management, risk management and oversight of multi-asset class portfolios; and developing investment theses for new investment opportunities, drafting investment committee memorandums, and subsequently presenting them to senior leadership.


Salary Range: Annual base salary for this New York, New York-based position is $200,000 - $300,000.
