Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Asset Protection and Investigations, the Asset Protection Specialist is responsible for direct hands-on Field Investigations for the PSEGLI Electric Utility. This position is viewed and deemed as the on-scene Security authority for the PSEGLI organization.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with local, city, county, State, and Federal law enforcement in investigations involving PSEGLI Electric Utility operations and employees.
  • Assist Security Command Center (SCC) staff in developing incident reports for theft, intrusions, fire, alarms, NERC-related issues, and other security matters.
  • Support Crisis Management Planning and Response, train other business units on Security Plans, and interface during exercises and actual events.
  • Collaborate with other Lines of Business to enhance security and crime prevention measures.
  • Monitor and manage activities of security guards and patrols, establishing a 24/7 security presence.
  • Understand Storm Restoration Procedures related to infrastructure sustainment and recovery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or Security Management plus 7 years of security, law enforcement, military, or investigations experience. Alternatively, 15 years of security or law enforcement experience without a degree.
  • Flexibility for extended hours and on-call security coverage.
  • Strong communication skills, experience in investigations, proficiency in MS Office, valid US driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Security Response, Crisis Management, Physical Security, and Cyber Security.
  • Previous experience with Electric Utility organizations.
