Position Purpose

Responsible for protecting company assets through exceptional customer service and disciplined safety procedures. Provide customer service and engage customers to increase sales and reduce exposure to loss. Support Carter’s “prevention first” philosophy by ensuring operational excellence and maintaining a consistent visible presence on the sales floor.

Essential Job Functions

• Customer Focus :
• Provides a strong and genuine customer focus on the sales floor at all times.
• Assists store management with handling difficult customer situations.
• Contacts/interacts with local authorities when necessary.
• Maintains communication with the store team regarding incidents and exposures to loss.
• Maintains housekeeping and safety standards to ensure a positive customer and team experience.

• Drive Growth :
• Utilizes in-store resources such as CCTV and mirrors to deter theft.
• Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
• Documents all theft or attempted theft situations on incident reports.
• Partners with store management to address potential theft situations.

• Team Development :
• Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with team members.
• Adjusts assignments as needed.
• Supports, trains, and coaches others for success.
• Communicates effectively with store management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Demonstrates customer engagement skills.
• Minimum of 1 year of Loss Prevention experience.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Effective communication skills with customers and employees.
• Retail or specialty apparel knowledge and experience preferred.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift 40 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand for long periods; climb ladders.
• Constant walking and standing; frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
