General Purpose:

This position provides a visible presence at the store entrances/exits, mitigating theft and fraud and maintaining a safe and secure environment for associates and customers. Responsible for greeting customers and deterring opportunities for theft. Intermittently walks the sales floor to identify and address potential theft indicators. Partner with store leadership to ensure compliance with Loss Prevention directives and minimization of operational shortage. Must embrace company values.

Essential Functions:

Mitigating Theft & Fraud:

1. Monitor entrances/exits and sales floor for potential theft by identifying suspicious behavior.
2. Gather theft indicators and use internal or external intelligence to impact shortage trends. Effectively communicate to store leadership and Loss Prevention.

Maintaining a Safe & Secure Environment:

1. Provide a visible presence at store entrances/exits and on the sales floor in a company-issued vest, monitoring for potential safety issues.
2. Provide assistance to store leadership to maintain a safe and secure environment for associates and customers.

Minimizing Operational Shortage:

1. Increase store awareness of effective processes to minimize operational shortages.
2. Train and educate on shortage reduction initiatives.
3. Observe proper checkout procedures for customers and associates.

Developing Great Teams & Partnerships:

1. Provide great customer service by greeting customers and answering questions.
2. Regular involvement with internal and external partners. This may include conference calls, scheduled district meetings, etc.
3. Other duties as assigned to support Loss Prevention initiatives.

Qualifications and Special Skills Required:

1. One-year loss prevention/security training preferred.
2. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
3. Strong communication/customer service skills.
4. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with the store team.
5. Proven ability to effectively resolve conflict.

Physical Requirements:

1. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time (up to 8 hours per day).
2. Must be able to raise or lower objects weighing up to 25 lbs, from one level to another (includes upward pulling).
3. Must be able to regularly bend, stoop, or crouch (frequency and duration will vary per daily business need).

Salary: $18-$19 per hour
