Gap Inc. in New York seeks an Asset Protection Specialist to deter theft, maintain safety, and protect our brand across Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic and Athleta. You will be on the sales floor with a strong presence and focus on investigations and loss prevention.

The role requires experience in theft apprehension, surveillance, and wearing body-worn cameras. You will collaborate with store teams and law enforcement to build cases and uphold safety and inclusion. Gap Inc.

Qualifications

• Experience in theft apprehension and surveillance.
• Strong understanding of safety and legal protocols.
• Ability to wear and operate body-worn cameras.
• Excellent communication and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to work independently in high-pressure environments with knowledge of business continuity planning.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a strong, visible presence in high-risk stores to deter theft and promote safety.
• Conduct surveillance and apprehend shoplifters in accordance with policy and law.
• Wear and operate body-worn cameras to document incidents and ensure transparency.
• Collaborate with store teams and law enforcement to build and prosecute cases.
• Train store teams on safe practices for handling theft-related incidents and reporting tools.
• Check physical security systems and report vulnerabilities.
• Analyze incident data to identify patterns and prevent incidents.
• Support crisis response and contribute to safety and inclusion.
