Job summary

Wegmans Food Markets in Ithaca, NY seeks a proactive Asset Protection Manager to lead a store AP team and advance safety programs. You will build trusted relationships with store leadership and coordinate life safety and security systems to protect customers and employees.

The role requires prior law enforcement experience, a firearms license, and demonstrated leadership. You will partner with management to reduce loss and ensure a safe shopping environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ years as a sworn police officer with arrest authority in a military, municipal, county, state, or federal police agency.
• Valid License to carry a firearm.
• 1+ years of experience leading a team.
• Ability to use good judgment and make difficult decisions affecting safety.
• Systems aptitude and analytical skills.
• Strong written communication and attention to detail.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead store AP team and develop personnel, providing resources and feedback for success.
• Build and maintain relationships with store leadership to communicate safety trends and measures.
• Ensure safety programs are executed to high standards and support a positive shopping experience.
• Coordinate all store life safety and security systems and guide employees during emergencies.
• Collaborate with community organizations, emergency responders, and local retailers.
• Oversee external contract security and law enforcement while maintaining clear communication.
• Provide training on safety and security awareness to store staff.
• Partner with management to minimize loss and analyze shrink causes.
