Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an Asset Protection professional to ensure a safe environment for customers, team members and vendors. The role focuses on investigating theft, ORC activity, and applying proactive loss-prevention practices to protect profitability.

The position requires a High School graduate or equivalent with at least 6 months in security or 1 year of work experience. Strong observational and reporting skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of 6 months experience in security or at least 1 year of work experience.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspects building exterior/parking lot to ensure hazards are mitigated.
• Conducts walking inspections of backroom and sales floor.
• Reviews cashier exception reports.
• Conducts internal theft surveillance.
• Reviews theft activity reports and follows up as necessary.
• Conducts shoplifting surveillance.
• Reports safety hazards to Store Leadership for addressing.
• Tests and inspects camera equipment for effective operation.
• Reviews alarm system printer for suspicious activity.
• Participates in apprehension of those violating the law and assists in prosecution of theft cases.
• Engages in extensive documentation and report writing with incident history for litigation.
• Testifies in criminal court and/or civil court proceedings.
• Adheres to safety practices and policies.
• Performs other duties as required.
