Job summary

Meijer is hiring for an Asset Protection role. The team focuses on preventing theft, safeguarding customers and employees, and ensuring a secure store environment.

Candidates should have at least a High School diploma and security experience, with strong attention to safety and incident documentation. Your duties include monitoring for theft, inspecting premises, operating surveillance equipment, and supporting investigations and court proceedings when necessary.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 6 months experience in security or at least 1 year of work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect exterior and parking lot to mitigate hazards.
• Inspect backroom and sales floor on foot to ensure safety.
• Review cashier exception reports for discrepancies.
• Conduct internal theft surveillance and monitor activity.
• Review theft reports and follow up as needed.
• Perform shoplifting surveillance and report findings.
• Report safety hazards to Store Leadership for action.
• Test and inspect camera equipment for proper operation.
• Review alarm system activity for unusual events.
• Assist in apprehension and pursue relevant prosecutions where required.
• Maintain detailed documentation and write incident reports for litigation.
• Testify in criminal or civil court as needed.
• Adhere to safety practices and maintain 200% safety accountability.
• Perform other duties as required.
