Job summary

Werner Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a logistics professional to manage rail container planning and coordinate with carriers to optimize utilization, dwell time, and costs.

The role involves communicating with carriers on plan execution and escalating issues to meet customer expectations. The position emphasizes working with railroad contacts on equipment-related issues, monitoring performance, and supporting Operations Supervisors with necessary tasks to ensure on-time and cost-effective

Responsibilities

• Administer the assignment of rail container plans to 3rd party and Werner asset carriers. Prioritize equipment plans based on utilization, dwell time, cost, and capacity.
• Coordinate with carriers to ensure equipment plans are executed as planned and communicate impacts of failed performance.
• Advise Operations Supervisor of issues or needs as necessary and perform other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
• Collaborate with railroad contacts on equipment related issues and open cases or escalate EQ issues to meet customer expectations.
• Achieve performance goals related to street turn utilization, dwell time, and cost.
