Job description

Asset Manager (Intermediate) — Renewable Energy

Aevit Services, LLC | Remote — United States or Canada | Full-time

About Aevit

Aevit is a renewable energy consulting firm focused on asset management, project development, M&A, and strategic support for the energy industry. Based in Denver with a presence across the United States and Canada, we bring more than 125 years of combined industry tenure, project experience on six continents, and support of over 60 GW of renewable energy assets.

Our asset management practice has approximately 1.2 GW under active management, where we lead technical, commercial, regulatory, and environmental compliance and contract administration. We are a small team working on exciting projects— and we work directly and collaboratively with our clients.

The Role

We are hiring an Asset Manager to take day-to-day ownership of a group of operating solar projects within our managed portfolios. You will be the operational and commercial point of contact for your assets: overseeing O&M service providers, administering project agreements, keeping the assets compliant with ISO, NERC, FERC, permit and environmental requirements, and turning monitoring data into performance improvement that shows up in revenue.

The position carries a significant degree of autonomy. You will work closely with our principals and principal engineers and will hold direct responsibility for client relationships. Experience with solar is required; experience with wind and BESS is considered .

What You'll Do
Commercial and Contract Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned projects, coordinating between the owner, O&M service providers, offtakers, landowners, and third-party vendors.
  • Administer project agreements — O&M, site leases, interconnection, financing, and tax equity — including obligation tracking, compliance calendars, notices, and required reporting.
  • Manage PPA and offtake obligations, flagging applicable events, notices, and reporting requirements to the owner.
  • Support preparation of PPA, renewable energy credit (REC), and other revenue invoices, and support processing of lease and royalty payments.
  • Coordinate scheduling and power marketing activities, including sharing site‑specific outage and maintenance adjustments with the scheduling agent.
  • Administer O&M contracts, including tracking availability guarantees and calculating liquidated damages where performance falls short.
Technical and Performance Management
  • Monitor plant performance through SCADA and asset management platforms; investigate underperformance and drive it to resolution with the O&M provider.
  • Oversee O&M execution against OEM requirements and the annual maintenance plan, and monitor the maintenance tracker for scheduled maintenance and regulatory inspections.
  • Perform portfolio analytics to identify systemic issues and improvement opportunities, and develop and manage Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).
  • Build the cost-benefit analysis and business case for out‑of‑scope work and capital expenditures.
  • Administer warranty and insurance claims, maintain warranty records, and support spare parts strategy and inventory recommendations.
  • Conduct and/or coordinate visits with structured walk‑downs and issue inspection reports; support annual O&M audit inspections, including component sampling and review of documentation against completed physical work.
Regulatory and Environmental Compliance
  • Maintain compliance with ISO/RTO, NERC, FERC, utility, and state commission requirements, including registrations, filings, and data submittals.
  • Maintain permit and license compliance and support applications and renewals as needed.
  • Oversee the O&M provider's implementation of environmental management plans — stormwater and SPCC, waste management and disposal, and species, habitat, and wetlands protection requirements — and report on compliance.
  • Identify, document, and promptly escape suspected environmental non‑compliance or incidents, and coordinate corrective and mitigation measures.
Reporting and Client Delivery
  • Produce weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting covering HSSE, operational, commercial, environmental, and financial performance metrics.
  • Maintain the risk and opportunity register, escalating medium, high, and critical items with a recommended path to resolution.
  • Support onboarding of newly acquired or newly operational projects: data room intake and organization, gap follow‑up, systems access, and contractual integration.
  • Present findings and recommendations directly to client stakeholders in a clear and actionable format.
Location and Travel

This role is remote within the United States or Canada. Expect roughly 20–30% travel for site visits, annual O&M inspections, and occasional client meetings. Proximity to a major airport is helpful.

Why Aevit

Here you are not a small cog in a large machine. You will work shoulder to shoulder with a seasoned team that has supported and managed tens of gigawatts of development and operating portfolios for institutional owners. The work is varied and the results are measurable: recent engagements include restoring a commercial solar site from 60% to 100% of expected output and returning a chronically underperforming utility‑scale project to contractual performance. As the energy transition accelerates, the assets you manage keep clean power flowing and returns compounding for the long term — enduring impact is in our name.

We offer competitive compensation, benefits, and flexibility of a fully remote, senior team that trusts you to run your portfolio.

Aevit is an equal opportunity employer. We consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.

What You Bring
Required
  • Five to ten years of experience in renewable energy, with meaningful time in asset management, operations, performance engineering, or owner's engineering on utility-scale or distributed solar PV.
  • Working command of solar plant performance: inverters, trackers, modules, availability and performance ratio, and energy loss diagnostics, including the ability to distinguish data quality issues from genuine plant performance issues.
  • Strong understanding of solar modeling and performance including system and portfolio analytics.
  • Familiarity with project agreements — PPAs, leases, interconnection agreements — and comfort tracking obligations and deadlines across a portfolio.
  • Exposure to ISO/RTO markets and NERC/FERC compliance obligations for generating assets.
  • Strong analytical skills; fluent in Excel and comfortable working with monitoring platforms, SCADA exports, and production data.
  • Strong written communication skills; reporting produced in this role is delivered directly to institutional asset owners.
  • Able to work independently in a remote, client‑facing environment and manage competing priorities across multiple projects.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States or Canada, and able to travel to project sites.
Preferred
  • Wind and/or BESS operating experience.
  • Engineering degree, or equivalent technical background; PE license is a plus but not required.
  • Experience supporting an institutional owner, fund, or third‑party asset manager.
  • Hands‑on experience administering or managing O&M contracts and holding service providers to scope, schedule, and guarantees.
  • Environmental compliance experience (SWPPP, SPCC, waste management, wildlife and habitat plans).
  • Experience onboarding newly acquired or newly commissioned assets.
  • Familiarity with asset management or analytics platforms such as Aderis, SmartHelio, Sitemark, Power Factors, or similar.
