CACI International Inc. is seeking an Asset Management Specialist to manage the lifecycle of IT assets at DHS warehouses, data centers, facilities and contractor sites across multiple locations.

This on-site role requires meticulous records, adherence to asset management directives, and clear communication with government stakeholders. Responsibilities include inventory, preparing shipments, recording transactions in Sunflower or DHS database, coordinating disposal, data destruction, and CMDB

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 7 years of experience, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working on a Federal contract.
  • Experience with physical inventory and asset management processes.
  • Experience running reports within a CMDB.
  • Experience using Windows 11.
  • Experience with asset discovery tools.
  • Experience restocking consumable items.
  • Experience engaging and communicating with government stakeholders.
  • Experience using Sunflower or other federally approved asset management systems.
  • Well organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Able to lift 40 lbs.
  • Experience with ServiceNow.

Responsibilities

  • Support inventory and accountability of IT assets located at DHS Warehouses, Data Centers, DHS facilities, and contractor facilities.
  • Prepare required government forms for shipping, receiving, and transferring equipment within DHS sites or to/from external entities.
  • Ensure all asset transactions are accurately documented in the designated DHS system (Sunflower or other DHS approved database) in accordance with DHS Asset Management guidelines and the DHS Property Management Handbook.
  • Coordinate and process all DHS equipment requiring excess, disposal, or redeployment according to established regulations.
  • Perform data destruction coordination and secure handling of sensitive storage devices on equipment designated for disposal; remove, label, and degauss storage devices when required.
  • Assist in the removal and processing of servers, network equipment, storage hardware, voice and video systems, and other IT equipment designated by the government. Reusable assets are returned to the DHS Warehouse for redeployment.
  • Receive shipments, scan and record all assets into the approved asset management tool, and store equipment in designated locations following inventory control practices.
  • Retrieve and stage assets marked for disposal.
  • Prepare and assist in weekly reporting of all asset activity, including receipt, shipment, transfer, or disposal, and confirm that Sunflower or the designated DHS database reflects all completed transactions.
  • Assist in performing full inventories at DHS Warehouses, Data Centers, DHS facilities, and contractor locations; prepare discrepancy reports and complete inventory lists.
  • Run physical inventory checks and asset reports from CMDB and asset management systems.
  • Support restocking of consumable IT items.
  • Support basic device preparation, testing tasks as required to verify functionality.
  • Utilize asset discovery tools, Windows 11, and ServiceNow for tracking and reporting.
  • Lift up to 40 lbs as needed for asset intake, movement, and disposal activities.
  • Communicate effectively with government stakeholders and collaborate within a fast paced operational environment.

The Opportunity

The Asset Management Specialist works under close supervision and serves as a knowledgeable resource responsible for the routine configuration control, tracking, and lifecycle management of contractor and customer IT assets. This position supports government prescribed asset management processes, ensuring accurate documentation and validation of all IT asset movement through Install, Moves, Adds, and Changes (IMACs) and Special Projects. This role is fully on site supporting multiple sites as needed. The Specialist supports asset accountability activities across DHS Warehouses, DHS Data Centers, DHS facilities, and designated contractor locations. The position requires strong attention to detail, adherence to DHS Asset Management directives, and effective communication with government stakeholders.
