The Role

At Matrix Renewables we are looking for a highly motivated individual to play a key role in our Asset Management team. The Asset Management Senior Associate will have experience in the technical and financial operation of renewable energy projects; will be enthusiastically self-driven, with a strong attention to detail and schedule, and ability thrive in a dynamic environment.

Reporting to the U.S. Director of Asset Management, the Asset Management Senior Associate will support in the oversight of daily operations of the US portfolio, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external service providers to ensure efficient and compliant operations of our projects. In addition, the candidate will be involved in supporting the successful onboarding of new projects from construction into operations.

Key activities and responsibilities:

  • Provide general cross-functional support to the US Operations team in its duties
  • Populate and maintain detailed project record and compliance database to ensure that all portfolio obligations are being met per requirements and in good standing
  • Oversee project revenue cycles: ensure settlements validation, timely and accurate offtake billings, and collections in coordination with third-party providers
  • Monitor operational expenses and cash flow against the project budget and support planning activities with the Operations & Investments teams
  • Support new project onboarding activities by preparing project record & compliance database
  • Assist in coordination of 3rd party service provider onboarding workstreams
  • Administration of third-party service provider agreements such as new supplier enrollments, purchase orders & invoice management
  • Support O&M activities by ensuring and providing commercial support in the preparation of warranty claims, review of O&M contractor invoices & reports, and reconciliation of availability guarantee reports.
  • Collaborate with Performance and Markets team to analyze project technical performance and financial results and in the execution of resulting strategic activities.
  • Provide input into the development and improvement of the Asset Management team processes and procedures.
  • Ability to travel once per quarter

General Skills / Attributes:

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience, ideally with a recordable track record of renewable energy portfolio asset management
  • Bachelor of Business degree, Engineering or related subjects, MBA or relevant Master’s degree is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of renewable energy plants construction, operation and maintenance
  • Familiarity with the administration of solar market settlements and offtake contracts
  • Ability to read, interpret, document and administer commercial contracts
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Solid communication skills: capability to establish technical discussions in different cultural environments and work in coordination with a large cross-functional team
