Job Description

The Global Fixed Income, Currency, and Commodities team (GFICC) at J.P. Morgan Asset Management is a leading fixed income manager with expertise across major sectors, including niche markets. Our team’s investment decisions are supported by proprietary research conducted by a globally integrated group of sector specialists. We utilize a shared research language that combines fundamental, quantitative, and technical analyses to facilitate cross-sector and cross-geography idea sharing.

GFICC manages a diverse range of strategies through funds and separate accounts, including broad market, long duration, stable value, high yield, emerging market debt, short and ultra-short duration, global bonds, structured products, mortgages, and tax-aware strategies. The Securitized Credit Research team is responsible for fundamental research and analysis across over $80 billion in securitized credit assets, including ABS, CMBS, non-agency RMBS, and CLOs.

Job Responsibilities

1. Conduct sector and issuer due diligence, tracking trends, performance, and macroeconomic factors to formulate investment recommendations.
2. Develop buy/sell recommendations for new issues and secondary markets, and communicate these through written credit opinions.
3. Monitor market themes and sector trends to identify investment opportunities.
4. Perform surveillance and risk monitoring, enhancing tools and processes as needed.
5. Create models to improve investment analysis and forecast performance of consumer or real estate-related assets.
6. Analyze large data sets to develop and test investment ideas.
7. Build and maintain relationships with internal teams and external entities such as issuers, rating agencies, and broker-dealers.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

1. At least 3 years of securitized credit experience in one or more sub-sectors.
2. Knowledge of securitized sectors including ABS, CMBS, RMBS, and CLO.
3. Familiarity with Intex and/or Trepp.
4. Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of concise communication under tight deadlines.
5. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

1. Programming skills are a plus.
2. Experience as a research analyst, portfolio manager, banker, structurer, or trader is preferred.
