As an Asset Management Operations Technical Architect, you will shape the architecture strategy for technology supporting investment operations, connecting business priorities with scalable, resilient, secure solutions.

You will define target-state architecture and modernization roadmaps across investment operations capabilities, guiding cloud, data, integration, and AI-enabled solutions while balancing business value, risk, and long-term technology health. Working across business, product, engineering, data, infrastructure, and architecture teams, you will solve complex technology challenges, influence critical decisions, and establish alignment without relying on direct authority.

Your impact will include strengthening architecture governance, simplifying technology, advancing innovation, and helping teams deliver reliable platforms that support Schwab’s evolving investment operations needs.

What you have

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, enterprise architecture, solution architecture, or technology leadership, including significant experience within financial services, asset management, wealth management, banking, or capital markets
• Experience serving as a Principal Architect, Enterprise Architect, Chief Architect, Distinguished Engineer, or comparable senior technical leadership role with responsibility for architecture strategy across complex technology ecosystems
• Experience defining or implementing AI-enabled technology strategies, including machine learning, generative AI, intelligent automation, and responsible AI practices
• Deep experience with investment operations, asset management platforms, or financial services technology spanning front-, middle-, and back-office workflows, operational processing, data management, and regulatory considerations
• Demonstrated experience defining enterprise architecture strategies and modernizing large-scale, mission-critical platforms using cloud architectures, distributed systems, APIs, event-driven architectures, and enterprise integration patterns
• Experience applying architecture governance, standards, reference architectures, technology lifecycle management, design reviews, and risk-based decision-making
• Expertise in data architecture and engineering, including data platforms, analytics, data governance, and enterprise data integration
• Experience influencing architecture strategy and decisions across business, product, engineering, data, infrastructure, and security stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading platform modernization, application rationalization, and technology simplification within complex, regulated environments
• Experience with modern engineering practices, including Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, cloud engineering, platform engineering, and Site Reliability Engineering
• Ability to apply Strategic Thinking and Decision Making to translate business objectives into scalable technology strategies and architecture roadmaps
• Strong Cross-Functional Collaboration, Stakeholder Management, and Influencing Others skills to build alignment across multiple organizations
• Strong Problem Solving and Adaptability when evaluating technologies, navigating competing priorities, and addressing complex architecture challenges
• Strong Communication and executive-level presentation capabilities, with the ability to clearly communicate architecture strategies and recommendations
