CyberSearch is seeking a seasoned Asset Management / Investment Operations Business Analyst to gather data requirements, analyze large datasets, and support product feature decisions within an agile environment. The role involves working with data product managers and engineering to ensure data quality and operational readiness.

The ideal candidate has 6-8 years in financial services with asset management experience, strong Python and SQL skills, and a solid background in capital markets.

Qualifications

  • Six to eight years in Financial Services with asset management experience.
  • Assets management and investment operations experience required.
  • Experience in agile delivery—Scrum or Kanban.
  • Proficient in detailed data analysis using SQL and Python.
  • Able to collaborate with business and technical teams to drive data product outcomes.
  • Experience with data quality analysis and certification processes for data products.

Responsibilities

  • Gather source and target data requirements; identify data sets for data product suitability.
  • Perform detailed data analysis on large datasets to identify gaps, trends, and improvement areas.
  • Develop POVs from data analyses to inform product feature decisions.
  • Assist Data Product Managers in defining and prioritizing features.
  • Create and maintain source-to-target mapping documents and product docs.
  • Develop and execute test scripts for Functional Testing and UAT of data products.
  • Document data validation controls; guide implementation with engineering team.
  • Prepare data product release notes for operational readiness.
  • Participate in PI planning, daily stand-ups, sprint demos and retrospectives to foster transparency and continuous improvement.

Asset Management / Investment Operations BA
Location :Los Angeles, Ca or Orange County, CA 2-3 days a week onsite

Roles:

  • Gather source and target data requirements, identify and analyze datasets for data product suitability
  • Conduct detailed data analysis on large data sets, generating insights on data gaps, trends, and areas for improvement
  • Develop points of view (POVs) through data analysis to support product feature decisions
  • Assist Data Product Managers in defining and prioritizing features
  • Create and maintain source-to-target mapping documents and product-related documentation
  • Develop and execute test scripts for Functional Testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for data products
  • Document data validation controls and collaborate with the engineering team to guide implementation
  • Prepare data product release notes for operational readiness
  • Participate in Program Increment (PI) planning, daily stand-up, sprint demo, and sprint retrospective meetings, fostering transparency, feedback, and continuous improvement

Top 3 skills

  • Strong in advanced data analytics using Python and SQL
  • Experienced in functional and non-functional data requirements, such as mapping, flows, data dictionary, glossary, lineage, operational metadata, etc..
  • Strong background and experience in capital markets/investment management domain

Required:

  • 6-8 years of experience in the Financial Services industry, with mandatory asset management experience. Investment operations and data management experience preferred.
  • Asset Management and Investment Operations experience
  • Must have experience in an agile delivery model, well-versed in Scrum or Kanban planning and execution
  • Must have experience in detailed data analysis using tools, such as SQL, and Python
