Job summary

Advocates Legal Recruiting represents an AmLaw 100 client in New York, seeking a 4+ year asset management M&A associate to join the Transactions group. The focus is asset manager deals: GP stakes, control transactions, structured equity, and secondaries.

You will advise asset managers, private equity sponsors, banks, founders, and boards on complex transactions, draft and negotiate core deal documents, and coordinate with cross‑border teams.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of asset management M&A experience.
• Direct experience with GP stakes and control asset management transactions is key.
• Ability to manage workstreams, drafting and negotiating core deal documents, and handling client contact.

Responsibilities

• Advise asset managers, private equity sponsors, banks, insurers, founders, and boards on complex transactions.
• Draft and negotiate core deal documents and manage client contact.
• Coordinate with funds, regulatory, tax, and cross-border deal teams.
