Responsibilities

  • Update and maintain the Public Services Department’s work management system and asset databases.
  • Provide training to staff on the work management system.
  • Ensure all departmental assets are inventoried and catalogued in asset software.
  • Develop technologies and processes to improve field data editing and collection.
  • Create internal workflows to schedule data collection in the Asset Management Office.
  • Review and update asset attribute data for consistency and add new inventory as needed.
  • Collect field data as needed and perform spatial analysis to create maps.
  • Assist in developing Key Performance Indicators.
  • Provide QA/QC on data in systems.
  • Attend meetings and training to stay current on asset management practices.
  • Analyze asset data to set inspection, repair, and maintenance priorities.
  • Coordinate with division chiefs to develop work plans and action items.
  • Coordinate with other departments on data essential to asset management.
  • Participate in emergency response activities.

Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The Asset Analyst will provide technical support to the Public Services Department to maintain databases of Town-owned assets. These assets include facilities, bridges, open and closed stormwater systems, street signs, guardrails, sidewalks, roll carts, etc. This position will also provide analysis of assets and produce various types of reports.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Update and maintain the Public Services Department’s work management system and various other asset databases.
  • Provide training to staff in the Public Services Department on the work management system.
  • Ensure all departmental assets are inventoried and catalogued utilizing Town- authorized software.
  • Develop and implement technologies and processes that increase the efficiency of department operations by allowing employees to edit or collect asset data in the field.
  • Create proper internal workflow processes to ensure all data collection within the Asset Management Office is scheduled and executed.
  • Update and review current attribute data of assets, ensure consistency within asset classes, and add new inventory, as necessary, to databases.
  • Collect field data as needed.
  • Perform spatial analysis to create maps.
  • Assist in development of Key Performance Indicators.
  • Provide quality assurance/quality control on data reported and entered in work/asset management systems.
  • Attend meetings, conferences, workshops, and training sessions, in addition to reviewing materials to remain current on the principles, practices, and new developments in asset management.
  • Analyze asset data and develop priorities for inspection, repair, and maintenance.
  • Work with the Project Management Division Chief and coordinate with the Division Chiefs to develop work plans and action items.
  • Coordinate with other departments regarding data essential to the asset management program.
  • Participate in emergency response activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited college with course work in construction management, engineering, and/or geographical information systems (GIS)
  • Three years of increasingly responsible experience using an asset management system and GIS schema
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid South Carolina driver’s license
