Description

Develop and oversee the engineering and design efforts for construction drawings / packages for projects.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in defining project work scopes for engineering requirements, including package deliverable requirements.
  • Assist with Process Safety Management/Process Hazard Analysis.
  • Describe project requirements concisely through engineering sketches and verbal instructions to design staff, and present this work in an organized manner suitable for design by available personnel.
  • Coordinate and organize work with other disciplines, maintaining good working relationships.
  • Check drawing packages for completeness and accuracy.
  • Perform discipline-specific calculations and review others' calculations for completeness, code compliance, and accuracy.
  • Manage equipment specifications and vendor interactions.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in a related technical field from an accredited university with at least three (3) years of experience in petrochemical, chemical, offshore, pipeline, or utility industries, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License as per State law or requirement.
  • Professional Engineer Intern with professional registration preferred.
Skills
  • Knowledge of discipline design codes and industry standards.
  • AutoCAD knowledge with minimum 2 years experience preferred.
  • Experience with Process Safety Management/Process Hazard Analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook, with experience in spreadsheets, databases, and word processing.
  • Familiarity with discipline-specific compute applications (e.g., ETAP, STAAD, CEASAR).
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk up to one mile on industrial sites outdoors.
  • Ability to work in protective clothing and operate multi-level stair towers and ladders.
  • Ability to hear safety alarms while wearing hearing protection.
  • Ability to sit at a desk and operate a computer for extended periods.
  • Physical ability to perform various movements including lifting up to 25 lbs.
Additional Requirements

This is an in-plant position with responsibilities including supporting equipment reliability, mechanical integrity, and safety compliance, requiring a BS in Mechanical Engineering, and experience in plant maintenance and SAP software is a plus.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure product quality and proper maintenance of plant equipment.
  • Provide expertise in mechanical maintenance and design.
  • Support maintenance departments with technical expertise for equipment and structural integrity.
  • Monitor and improve maintenance programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and participate in safety and efficiency initiatives.
Job Dimensions

Focus on plant equipment reliability, maintenance standards, and project management to improve safety, environmental, and operational performance. The role reports to the AIG/Reliability Superintendent and involves continuous improvement and compliance activities.
