What You Will Do:

Responsible for providing assessment for Illinois State Board of Education programs that participate in ExceleRate, conduct inter-reliability assessments, and write accurate reports.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Provides on-site or virtual evaluation and provides support for state early childhood programs using the Early Childhood Environment Rating Scales.
  • Prepares and submits evaluation reports according to the required time frame and criteria.
  • Ensures accurate documentation and on-site or virtual protocol for the Illinois State Board of Education Compliance Checklist.
  • Participates in inter-rater reliability training for all required evaluation tools, writes related reports, and maintains required level of reliability.
  • Attends all staff, assessment team, and supervision meetings.
  • Provides support for other McCormick Center duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field. Master's Degree strongly preferred. Teaching license and or public early childhood teaching experience.
  • Three to five (3-5) years teaching or administrative experience in the field of early childhood education.
  • State of Illinois residency
  • Prior experience with early childhood evaluation tools like the Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale, third edition for Pre-K classrooms.
  • Successful experience as a skilled team member
  • High level of knowledge or previous reliability on observation tools
  • Reliable transportation to travel throughout the state of Illinois
  • Willingness to attend ongoing training to obtain and retain reliability in assessment tools
  • Prior experience in early childhood assessment preferred
  • Spanish speaking preferred.

Work Environment/Physical Demands/Travel Requirements:

  • This is a remote position within the state of Illinois. This position requires state-wide travel, word processing and computer skills, walking, bending, classroom environment-continuous standing, lifting boxes, setting up training environments. This position will be required to come into the Chicago, Wheeling, or Lisle campus for special meetings/events.

The salary range of the grade for this position is $51,966 to $75,351 annually. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate. Offers are based on multiple factors permitted by law, including but not limited to: budgetary considerations, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, market considerations, tenure and standing with the university (applicable to current employees), and internal equity.
