What you will do in this role:

  • Receive inquiry calls and assist callers with scheduling face-to-face assessments or triage to appropriate community referrals.
  • Ensure assessments are conducted by qualified mental health professionals for patients presenting for evaluation.
  • Screen for medical and behavioral emergency conditions.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments and provide quality therapeutic care to patients seeking treatment for substance abuse, dual diagnosis, or psychiatric/emotional disorders; coordinate with the clinical team or on-call physician to meet these needs either at the facility or through community providers.
  • Interpret treatment plans to patients and families to reduce fear and other barriers to acceptance and continuation of care. Complete administrative processes for admission and precertification with external payers as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in social work or counseling required; RN licensure may be accepted in lieu of a master’s degree or per state regulations. Current, unencumbered clinical social work or counseling license, or RN license, per state guidelines.
  • Valid driver’s license, favorable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), and proof of insurance if using personal vehicle.
  • Ability to meet typing and keyboard expectations.
  • CPR and CPI certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Prior experience in a psychiatric healthcare setting working with adult and geriatric patients preferred. Strong clinical assessment skills are essential.
