Role Responsibilities

• Coordinate with hospitals, emergency rooms, and mobile assessment teams to facilitate direct admissions and MOT transfers.
• Handle inquiry calls and assist callers in scheduling face-to-face assessments or triage to appropriate community referrals.
• Ensure assessments are conducted by qualified mental health professionals for presenting patients.
• Screen for medical and behavioral emergencies.
• Perform comprehensive assessments and provide quality therapeutic care for patients seeking treatment for substance abuse, dual diagnosis, or psychiatric/emotional disorders; coordinate with clinical teams and on-call physicians to meet these needs either at the facility or through community providers.
• Explain treatment plans to patients and families to reduce fear and promote acceptance and continuation of care.
• Complete administrative processes related to admission and precertification of care with external payers as needed.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure
• Valid driver’s license, favorable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), and proof of insurance if using personal vehicle
• Proficiency in typing and keyboard use
• CPR and CPI certification within 30 days of hire
• Experience in psychiatric healthcare settings working with adult and geriatric patients preferred
• Strong clinical assessment skills
