Job description

Join to apply for the Assessment Specialist - English Language Arts role at Pearson.

As an Assessment Specialist within the Content Development team, you will develop K-12 assessments for state and district clients, focusing on standards-based assessments accessible to all students. Responsibilities include:

  1. Developing and reviewing ELA test items, passages, and tasks across multiple grade levels.
  2. Creating test specifications, blueprints, and related documents.
  3. Managing and training item and passage writers.
  4. Supporting customer meetings and providing assessment expertise.
  5. Participating in test construction and review processes.
  6. Collaborating with test development teams and other stakeholders.
  7. Travel may be required.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in education, English, or equivalent experience, with preferred experience as an elementary or secondary ELA teacher, knowledge of educational trends, and familiarity with large-scale assessments. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Salary ranges from $65,000 to $75,000, with eligibility for annual incentives. The position is full-time, based in Raleigh, NC, and may involve some travel.
