Job summary

Hill Crest Behavioral Health in Birmingham, AL is seeking an Assessment Coordinator - Intake (RN or MA/MSW in Behavioral/Social Sciences required) to manage initial assessments and intake processes.

You will screen for suicide risk, handle Helpline referrals, obtain insurance authorization, complete admissions, and relay data to physicians. Join a 194-bed acute care psychiatric facility offering comprehensive benefits and opportunities within UHS.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or RN license in AL is required.
• Experience in intake, psychiatric setting (outpatient or inpatient) and crisis intervention preferred.
• Ability to establish rapport quickly via telephone or in person.
• Must be computer literate with clerical skills.
• Experience in insurance benefits verification and admission/pre-certification preferred.
• Familiar with medical and psychiatric terminology/psychotropic medications, preferred.
• Handle with Care and CPR certified, preferred.

• Master's Degree in field of Behavioral/Social Sciences or active RN liscenced in Alabama
• Effective leadership skills
• Ability to provide orientation and continuing education with co-workers
• Three (3) years experience in Intake, psychiatric setting (outpatient or inpatient) and crisis intervention, preferred
