Job summary

Young & Franklin Tool Works is seeking an assembler to join its aerospace manufacturing team, assembling hydraulic and pneumatic valves and actuators in accordance with drawings and safety guidelines.

Applicants should have a High School diploma; basic tool handling skills and familiarity with precision measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. FAA A&P is a plus but not required. OT opportunities available.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• FAA A&P certificate a plus but not required.
• Requires mechanical ability and manual dexterity with hand tools.
• Experience reading blueprints and basic schematics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assemble aerospace components per drawings, instructions and safety guidelines.
• Handle parts and materials properly and protect them during assembly.
• Perform general aerospace assembly steps such as name plating, Lockwire, sealing, etc.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and prevent foreign object contamination.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.

Pay Range: $24 - $34 per hour; OT over 8 Hours in a day

REQUIRES random drug and alcohol testing throughout the year. The drug test screens for: Marijuana, Amphetamines, Cocaine, Opiates, Phencyclidine and semi-synthetic opioids: hydrocodone, oxycodone, hydromorphone, and oxymorphone.

Position Summary

Assembles aerospace components to include hydraulic and pneumatic valves and actuators, using tools and equipment in accordance with company and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Performs the assembly operation according to the drawing, shop traveler, assembly instruction and other instructions.
• Ensure parts and material are handled properly and protected.
• Performs general aerospace assembly processes such as; name plating, Lockwire, sealing, etc.
• Picks up, sweeps or removes any debris, residue or any excess foreign material located in or around a part, components or assembly as soon as physically possible after the operation takes place.
• Maintains a clean uncluttered work area and takes precautions against the introduction of foreign objects into components and assemblies.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• This position requires either a US Person (as defined in applicable export regulations) or a non-US person who is eligible to obtain required export authorization.
• High School graduate, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. FAA A&P (Airframe/Power plant) certificate a plus but not necessary.
• Requires mechanical ability, manual dexterity and proficiency with hand tools.
• Experience with precision measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, multimeters, and gauges.
• Experience reading blueprints; electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics a plus.
• Mechanical ability and manual dexterity.
• Must have basic knowledge of computers.
