SUMMARY

The role of Assembly Technician II utilizes a moderate level of skill to assemble intricate optical-mechanical and optical-electronic assemblies using high precision instruments and alignment software.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
  • Assembly of moderately complex optical-mechanical and optical-electronic assemblies.
  • Knowledgeable on reading optical and mechanical drawings and schematics.
  • Voice improvements and issues affecting productivity of the team (rework, supplies, equipment, etc)
  • Where required:
    • Basic knowledge on using alignment station and software to assemble complete systems with precision decenters and TIR’s.
    • Ability to perform repeatable measurements using height stand and drop indicator for elements and air spaces.
    • Ability to cement doublets and triplets using Opti-Alignment station.
    • Ability to assess that elements being installed meet drawing specifications for surface quality per mil-spec and ISO standards.
    • Experience using various bonding compounds
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 2-3 years of experience in Optics / Opto-mechanical/Opto-Electronic Assembly.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize work assignments.
  • Ability to read/write in English.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Team player.
