Job summary

Eaton in Omaha, NE is hiring an Assembly Technician for Gas Switchgear on 1st shift. You will assemble, wire, and install metering and transformer components for medium voltage switchgear (5-38kV).

The role involves wiring, crimping lugs, reading blueprints, and working from ladders and raised platforms in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, electrical wiring experience, and can work overtime.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Electrical wiring experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to work overtime as needed and maintain safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, adjust or repair using hand and air tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges and measuring devices.
• Position and install component parts according to material list and blueprints.
• Wiring tasks: stand, sit, bend and work from a ladder; crimp lugs with manual/automatic tools.
• Follow Point-to-Point wiring diagrams and route wiring per schematics.
• Maintain safety, quality and productivity; support overtime as required.

Routing of wire from one point to the other requires the ability to be proactive and work from a schematic• Able to work off ladders and in tight spaces• Inspect all assemblies for loose or missing hardware and cleanliness• Respond to change notices, customer requested adjustments and development needs• Focus on safety, customer service, quality, productivity• Must be willing to work overtime as required, including weekendsQualifications:Required:• High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution• Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position.
