Job summary

Stoke Space is looking for a Precision Assembly Engine Technician in Kent, WA to play a key role in building rocket engines and their sub-assemblies. You will work with a dedicated mission-driven team, responsible for precise assembly using work orders and drawings, while identifying discrepancies and ensuring quality control.

The role requires at least 3 years of experience in mechanical environments and offers extensive benefits including equity, health insurance, and generous paid time off.

Reusable systems are the key to seamlessly connecting Earth and space. Highly efficient and extremely reliable rocket engines will make these reusable delivery systems a reality. As a Precision Assembly Engine Technician, you will be responsible for the precise and rapid building of our Stage 2 engine and its sub‑assemblies for space vehicles.

Responsibilities
  • Precision assembly of Rocket Engines hardware, directed by both written and verbal instructions
  • Assembly of complex engine assemblies to work orders, drawings, CAD models and verbal instructions
  • Build planning, inventory kit organization, shortage identification, ordering of common stock items
  • Precision cleaning of hardware
  • Identification of discrepancies, authoring of nonconformance reports, coordination with engineering on dispositions, detailed documentation of steps
  • Following work orders for component builds; documentation of build steps for both new and recurring assembly sequences
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical or manufacturing environments
  • 2+ years of experience in precision assembly of complex engine systems or similar hardware
  • Detailed understanding of fittings, threads, inserts, seals, and other sub‑component parts
  • Assembly experience with Oxygen, Cryogenic, and FOD‑intolerant service components and systems
  • Familiar with operating pressurized systems and proof testing flight hardware
  • Proficient in working with delicate and high‑value assemblies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work second shift and weekends as needed
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs. unassisted
  • Able to stand for extended periods
  • Able to stoop, bend, crawl, and maneuver in tight spaces
  • Valid driver’s license
Preferred
  • Detailed understanding of GTAW and laser welding processes and procedures

Compensation
  • Level 2 Range: $32.11 – $48.16
  • Level 3 Range: $40.13 – $60.17
