Job summary

Stoke Space in Kent, WA seeks an Electromechanical Assembly Technician to assemble aerospace hardware, including electronically driven servos and TVC systems. You’ll work with engineers, document build steps, and contribute to a fast-paced, detail-focused shop environment.

Responsibilities include precision assembly, testing, soldering, documenting steps, and optimizing the build area with a strong emphasis on quality and efficiency. ITAR/compliance awareness is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of electromechanical assembly experience in aerospace or similar field.
  • Experience with soldering, de-soldering, and reworking electronic assemblies.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to work second shift and weekends as needed.

Job Description

Reusable systems are the key to seamlessly connecting Earth and space. Highly efficient and extremely reliable rockets will make these reusable delivery systems a reality. As an Electromechanical Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for the precise and efficient assembly of a wide range of aerospace hardware, including but not limited to electronically driven servos and thrust vector control (TVC) systems.

Leveraging your previous experience, you will build and assemble alongside engineers and independently; all while giving design feedback and logging accurate build notes for future reference.

You will use your resourcefulness and communication skills to identify and solve issues with the assistance of machinists, technicians and engineers. You will be responsible for maintaining an efficient work area, provide feedback for its layout, tooling, and local inventory storage. You must be ready to stay focused, move fast, self-direct, and learn on the fly.

Responsibilities
  • Precision mechanical assembly using standard hand tools and calibrated precision tools
  • Testing and validation of assemblies including vibe and thermal testing
  • Soldering wire terminations and splices
  • Prepping and bonding hardware
  • Following work orders for component builds; documentation of build steps for both new and re-occurring assembly sequences
  • Owning and improving build area, including product flow and inventory
  • Continually improving processes and procedures
  • Precision cleaning of hardware
  • Identification of discrepancies, authoring of nonconformance reports, coordination with engineering on dispositions, detailed documentation of steps
Qualifications
  • Minimum (2) years of electromechanical assembly experience in aerospace or similar field
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical and electronics hardware
  • Working knowledge of standard assembly and electrical tools including torque wrenches, soldering irons, hand tools, etc.
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, including mechanical assembly drawings, 3D models and electrical schematics
  • Experience with soldering, de-soldering, and reworking electronic assemblies.
  • Proficient in working with delicate and high-value assemblies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work second shift and weekends as needed

Compensation

Target Levels:

  • Level 1 Range: $26.25 - $38.52
  • Level 2 Range: $32.11 - $48.16
  • Level 3 Range: $40.13 - $60.17

ITAR Requirements
