Job summary

EXALTA Group is hiring an Assembly Technician to assemble, inspect, and package medical device components in a controlled clean room. This role emphasizes accuracy, manual dexterity, and adherence to quality and regulatory standards.

You will work with production and quality teams to ensure safe, efficient manufacturing of life-enhancing devices, with attention to documentation and process discipline in a Monday-Thursday shift.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of equivalent work experience preferred.
• Familiar with ERP systems, SAP or Epicor a plus.
• Experience in clean room or medical device assembly helpful.

Responsibilities

• Follow blueprints and work instructions for implant and instrument assembly.
• Accurate documentation of inventory use and packaging related functions.
• Assembly of instruments with 1-3 lower-level parts (entry to advanced).
• Labeling, documentation, packaging, working in a controlled environment area (entry to advanced).
• Measure, examine, or test completed units to check for defects and ensure specifications using precision instruments.
• Maintain hand and machine tools in proper operation condition.
• Supports cycle counts.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with EXALTA’s safety protocols and OSHA requirements.

Assembly Technician - Clean Room

Regular Full-Time Direct Marquette, MI, US

Reports to: Operations Supervisor

Shift: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Non-Exempt | Pay: $16.70-$22.60/hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling, inspecting, and packaging medical device components in a controlled clean room environment while following established quality standards and manufacturing procedures. This role requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and a commitment to maintaining product quality, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance. The Assembly Technician works collaboratively with production and quality teams to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate production of life-enhancing medical devices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assembly Technician – All Levels:

• Follow blueprints and work instructions for implant and instrument assembly
• Accurate documentation of inventory use and packaging related functions
• Assembly of instruments with 1-3 lower-level parts (entry to advanced)
• Labeling, documentation, packaging, working in a controlled environment area (entry to advanced)
• Measure, examine, or test completed units to check for defects and ensure specifications using precision instruments
• Maintain hand and machine tools in proper operation condition
• Supports cycle counts
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with EXALTA’s safety protocols and OSHA requirements.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• 1 year of equivalent work experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Operation monitoring to ensure a machine is working properly
• Basic to advanced department-specific hand and machine tool knowledge
• Basic to Advanced inspection techniques
• Basic to Advanced ERP knowledge/fundamentals (SAP, Epicor, or similar)
• Equipment selection and basic maintenance knowledge
