Job summary

Crissair, Inc. seeks an Assembly Technician to perform seat preparation and assist with the assembly of valves and subassemblies. You will follow blueprints, operate hand tools, and maintain a clean, safe workspace in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 3–6 months of related experience. Familiarity with ERP/inventory systems and reading blueprints is beneficial.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED and 3–6 months related experience or training.
  • Good command of English; able to read and interpret safety rules and manuals.
  • Ability to read blueprints and perform basic measurement calculations.
  • Familiarity with ERP/Inventory systems and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform seat preparation per work instruction including burnishing and coining seats.
  • Assemble and pre-assemble valves per blueprint and requirements.
  • Operate small hand and power tools and maintain tools and workspace.
  • Follow daily job list and document lean process improvement ideas.
  • Maintain accurate parts counts and manage stockroom verification.

Job description

Summary

Performs all seat preparations per applicable work instruction. Assists technicians with the assembly of parts to form complete units or subassemblies.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Other tasks and duties may be required as directed.

  • Performs seat preparation per applicable work instruction including burnishing and coining seats, cleaning, and washing parts.
  • Assembles and pre-assembles valves per blueprint.
  • Swedge noses to form 37 angle or roll.
  • Apply sealants and other chemicals as needed.
  • Follow and complete daily job list as required by supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate parts and part count for each job. Verify parts from stockroom.
  • Operate small hand and power tools.
  • Seek and document lean process improvement ideas to improve the efficiency of the department.
  • Maintain all hand tools in clean, working condition.
  • Notify supervisor of any equipment that requires repair.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work station.
  • Properly handle and dispose of chemicals used.
  • Maintain all safety standards and use safety equipment as required.
  • Be familiar with proper fixtures and tooling required.
Qualification Requirements
  • Education/Experience
    • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
    • Three to six months related experience or training.
  • Language Skills
    • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to write in simple correspondence.
    • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
    • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Math Skills
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Reasoning Skills
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.
    • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Physical Demands
    • Frequent Activities: Standing, sitting, walking, typing, handling objects, talking/hearing, lifting/pushing/pulling up to 10 lbs.
    • Occasional activities: Lifting/pushing/pulling up to 25 lbs, stooping, kneeling, crouching
    • Rare activities: Climbing/balancing, lifting/pushing/pulling heavy weights (50-100+ lbs)

    • Frequent: Close vision
    • Occasional: distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and focus adjustments
  • Work Environment
    • Frequent exposure: Mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, toxic chemicals, and moderate-to-loud noise.
    • Rare exposure: High places, outdoor weather, electrical shock, and vibrations, and very quiet noise levels.

Compensation and Benefits Offered

Actual base salary offered to the selected applicant will be based on their work location, qualifications, job related skills, relevant education, and training experience.

Base hourly rate range Minimum $17.27 - Maximum $20.75
