Job summary

Chapco Incorporated in Deep River, CT is hiring an Assembly I for a 4‑Day Workweek with a weekend every other week. The role reports to Production Lead and involves assembling products, testing, and following detailed instructions to ensure quality.

The position is entry level, requiring a HS diploma or GED and willingness to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy. Overtime and teamwork are expected; forklift training may be required for advancement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to use manual and power hand tools.
• Willingness to undergo forklift training if applicable.
• Stooping, bending, lifting 10–25 lbs, sitting and walking.
• Vision requirements include close and color vision.
• Overtime availability and teamwork are expected.
• Able to understand and follow Chapco policy and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assembles components by checking connections for correct fit and securing parts.
• Follows detailed parts lists and assembly instructions to complete Chapco products.
• Reports quality, process, equipment or material issues to Production Lead.
• Records time/production quantities using JobBoss or equivalent system.
• Utilizes kanban system and communicates potential shortages to Production Lead.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
