Job summary

Daimler Truck North America in High Point, NC is hiring for an assembler to mass-produce bus components and assemble components into completed buses. You will use hand tools, dispensing equipment, and forming machines, following standardized work procedures and prints.

The role requires teamwork, good English, and the ability to work the 3rd shift. Competitive pay starts at $22/hour, with an additional 7.5% shift differential for off-shifts and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Assemble bus components and sub-assemblies using hand tools and equipment.
• Follow drawings, BOMs, and specs to complete tasks on schedule.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work area and follow safety protocols.
• Operate in a LEAN manufacturing environment and participate in daily continuous improvement.
• Assist with kitting of products, materials and supplies and perform basic maintenance on tools.
• Utilize computer systems to access process data and ensure correct documentation.

Inside the Role

Perform physically demanding manufacturing duties including repetitive processes, moderate to heavy lifting, the use of machinery and following standardized work procedures at workstation or line assembly operations to mass-produce bus components or to assemble those components into a completed bus.

Assembler position offers a starting salary of $22.92/hr.

*additional 7.5% shift differential for off-shifts

What You Drive at DTNA

• Use hand tools, adhesive dispensing equipment, forming machines, fixtures and/or end effectors to complete mechanical, electrical and structural assemblies and sub-assemblies on buses.
• Install and assemble components for buses, use computer systems to access company data associated with assembly process, utilitze drawings, bills of materials and specification sheets in both electronic and hard copy
• Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimum supervision
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Follow prescribed safety protocols.
• Work in a LEAN manufacturing environment and employ continuous improvement on a daily basis.
• Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment as required.
• Kitting of products, material and supplies

Knowledge You Should Bring

• Must work successfully in a team environment.
• Must have good command of the English language, both written and verbal
• Able to work during 3rd shift

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

• High School Diploma is preferred
• Basic computer skills are preferred.
