Job summary

Modine, a global leader in thermal management, is seeking a Chiller Assembly Technician to join its Lexington, VA production team. You will assemble products on the production line using prints, wiring diagrams, and CAD models, applying power and hand tools, brazing, and high‑voltage wiring per specifications.

You will follow safety and quality requirements, read blueprints, operate hoists or forklifts when needed, and support QA and production checks to meet schedules.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Production experience in a make-to-order assembly role is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret prints, wiring diagrams, assembly checks and CAD models to meet production specs.

Responsibilities

• Assemble units using manual and powered tools according to customer specs.
• Perform brazing for refrigeration and water circuits per prints.
• Perform high voltage, 3-phase wiring of electrical system.
• Measure, cut, fit, and insulate water piping assemblies.
• Read blueprints and wiring diagrams to build or modify units.
• Complete quality and production checklists and processes.
• Access information on Windows-based and CAD platforms; keep workspace neat.
• Operate overhead hoists, hand trucks, and powered forklifts as required.

Position Description

A Chiller Assembly Technician is responsible for utilizing prints, work instructions and wiring diagrams in order to assemble product on the production line. This may include the use of power tools, hand tools, overhead hoists and fixtures to complete assembly and transport material to and from the work station. Chiller Assembly Technicians are responsible for adhering to all safety and quality requirements while meeting production schedule demands. The Chiller Assembly Technician reports to the Production Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

Using various manual and powered hand tools to assemble units according to customer specifications.

Perform brazing for refrigeration and water circuit per print requirements.

Perform high voltage, 3-phase wiring of electrical system.

Ability to measure, cut, fit, and insulate water piping assembly.

Reads blueprints work instructions, and wiring diagrams to build or modify units.

Ensure completion of Quality and Production checklists/processes.

Use computer to access and enter information including Windows based and CAD platforms. Keeps work area neat, clean and orderly.

Operate overhead hoists, manual hand trucks, and powered industrial trucks when required.

Required Education & Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Production experience in a make-to-order assembly role is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret prints, wiring diagrams, assembly checks and CAD models in order to meet production specifications preferred.
